About this property

Welcome to The Belhaven Hotel

Set within a Victorian-era townhouse in Glasgow’s West End, The Belhaven Hotel offers a blend of traditional charm and relaxed comfort. Guests can expect spacious, well-kept rooms featuring complimentary Wi-Fi, with some accommodations including spa baths for added luxury. The property also features a chic cafe and bar, alongside a restaurant and room service, catering to visitors looking for convenient dining options without leaving the premises.

The location is suitable for those interested in exploring nearby cultural attractions, with Glasgow Botanic Gardens just a short walk away and easy access to Hillhead subway station facilitating trips into the city center. Popular destinations such as Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Riverside Museum, and Glasgow Cathedral are within convenient reach, appealing to travelers who appreciate both art and history.

While the hotel does not provide free parking, air conditioning, or airport shuttle services, it remains a practical choice for visitors traveling without large vehicles or those focused on urban exploration. The building’s historical character means certain modern amenities like a fitness center or lift are not available, which may be a consideration for some guests. However, the staff are noted for their attentiveness and helpfulness, contributing positively to the overall experience.

Guests seeking a quiet retreat close to university campuses, local landmarks, and lively areas like Ashton Lane may find The Belhaven a fitting option. Reviews frequently highlight the spacious rooms and warm service, though some describe the stay as more of a bed and breakfast atmosphere rather than a traditional hotel. Families and solo travelers alike might appreciate the friendly, smoke-free environment with kid-friendly features.

An Unforgettable Birthday Stay at The Belhaven Hotel! Wow! Where do I even begin? My fiancé planned a surprise two-night stay at The Belhaven Hotel for my birthday, and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences ever. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness by the incredible staff. A huge thank you to Agnieszka (the wonderful manager), Anna, Sean, and Steven for going above and beyond to make our stay so special. Their hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made all the difference. The biggest surprise was walking into our beautifully decorated room which my fiancé requested —thoughtfully arranged for my birthday! It was such a heartfelt touch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. The room itself was stylish, spotless, and so comfortable, but the real highlight was the spa bath in the bathroom—pure luxury! After a long day of exploring, it was the perfect way to unwind and relax. Everything about our stay was exceptional—the ambiance, the service, and the overall experience. It’s clear that The Belhaven Hotel truly cares about making guests feel special. I can’t thank Agnieszka, Anna, Sean, and Steven enough for making my birthday so magical. We will absolutely be back, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stayed here for a week and couldn’t have been happier! Great location near the university (we were there to visit it) and Ashton Lane (we spent a lot of time there!!). Everything is in walking distance and the room was HUGE! I was expecting a traditionally smaller room and beds, but this room was enormous and the beds large and comfortable. You need to be a little self sufficient because they give you a code to the front door, and each room has a lockbox with the room’s key in it. They have staff, but not hovering at the front all the time like you might expect in chain hotels. They staff are very responsive to WhatsApp as a messaging service. There’s lots of breakfast options in the morning. I had the traditional Scottish breakfast and loved it. We only had breakfast on site once. (We were out and about from early to late.) I will absolutely come back here when I’m in Glasgow!!

Have stayed for one night only and despite very late arrival was greeted with a smile and very smooth and quick check in. Bedroom was very nice, clean and spacious - a hot shower was especially welcome on a cold winter night. Location is brilliant if you need to be in the close proximity to the University but only a shirt bus ride from the city centre as well. Break fast was very good and served in a pleasant room with high ceilings nicely decorated for Christmas. I would like to extend my particular gratitude to the lady who was working at the reception and assisting with breakfast. I was permitted to leave my bag until late afternoon after check out which made my travel around the area much easier. I would certainly recommend this hotel without doubt.

Nice room. Nice place. Located a bit away from the city centre. Code to get in the front door if you come in late at night.

I stayed here as a treat to myself as it seemed fancy and had a spa bath. Realistically this is more of A bed and breakfast feel than a hotel feel but I made good use of the spa bath which was much needed and amazing. The bed was super comfy. And the furniture and lighting made for some nice photos. Some light redecorating could freshen things up greatly. The lack of a lift was rough but I managed. Staff were helpful but the information sheet was pretty faded and basic. It's a period building and so my room felt massive but that also comes with some noise through the windows and from other rooms spa baths. Overall I feel I got my moneys work for a more luxurious bed and breakfast.

Glad to found this hotel in Glasgow for my family. Historical building hotel. It’s convenient and with reasonable price. Great and full breakfast! The greatest is the service- the staffs are very nice and helpful. Luckily, we arrived in the Saturday evening, from Sat 6pm to Monday 6am - Free car parking on the road. It’s more convenient!

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Glasgow’s West End and it’s walking distance away from the Botanic Gardens and Glasgow university. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly throughout my short stay. Warm breakfast was tasty with complementary continental buffet! All in all, great experience.
